According to Statcounter, and for the first time, 10.14% of all mobile internet traffic in Finland came from Windows Phones.  The phenomenal rate at which this landmark was achieved (with the real rise starting from February 2012, suggests Windows Phone likely has a very high market share in the region, in the order of 40-50%, depending on the rate of replacement of phones in the country.

Worldwide, Kantar notes Windows Phone has a more modest 3-4% retail market share in major markets but even this number has been growing, suggesting reaching 10% retail market share by the end of the year is not out of the realm of possibility.

One thing for sure – in Finland one would certainly not be able to say no-one owns a Windows Phone.

Thanks Arun for the tip.
