Add another code-name to your Microsoft quiver. At the Build Tour in Barcelona Microsoft unveiled a new technology called Project “Europe”.
Unfortunately it is a “secret project” and no detail has been released on its features or purpose. It joins Project Spartan, Project Natal, Project Astoria, Project Islandwood, Project Centennial, Project Threshold and a few others, and we can only make a few guesses as to what it may contain.
WindowsPhoneApps.es speculates that it may be related to Project Rome, which was the Continuity feature now in Windows 10 Redstone which would allow apps to hand-off data between devices so you could seamlessly continue work. Project Europe would presumably be a bigger version of the same idea.
It could also be a porting technology, but given that the name does not sound like a bridge this seems unlikely.
Does Windows 10 need any more projects? Let us know below.
