Windows 10 has a couple of SKUs which offer a variety of features, including SKUs like Pro, Education, Enterprise, Home, etc. Now, Microsoft seems to be working on another SKU for Windows 10: Pro for Education. The company quietly added this new SKU with Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 14328, for those wondering. If you are running the Pro SKU of Windows 10 Insider Build 14332, you can see the available editions for your SKU (which should include the new ProffessionalEducation SKU) using the “Dism /Online /Get-TargetEditions” command on CMD:
Windows 10 Pro for Education seems very interesting, to say the least. Lately, Microsoft has been focusing quite on schools, and the company announced some exciting new features coming to Windows 10 for schools with the Anniversary Update. As Microsoft is yet to officially this new SKU, we are not quite sure what’ll be different between the Pro for Education and the normal Education SKUs. Windows 10 Education is based on the Enterprise SKU, which includes more features than Pro which suggests that the Pro for Education SKU might not even include a lot of different features when compared to the normal Education SKU.
It is worth noting that Microsoft will also introduce some other SKUs, including a new SKU called “ProfessionalWorkstation” and “EnterpriseSubscription”. For now, there isn’t much info on these new SKUs yet — however, as per usual, we will let you know once Microsoft officially announces these new SKUs.
