PointDrive LinkedIn

LinkedIn today announced that they are acquiring PointDrive, a startup which aims to improve the way sales professionals engage with prospects and customers through the sharing of rich content. PointDrive’s easy-to-use app allows sales professionals to package, personalize, and deliver polished and engaging sales content to their prospects and customers. LinkedIn mentioned that their own global sales organization became a PointDrive customer about a year ago and their product has become one of the most valued tools for their teams.

David Thacker, Vice President, Product at LinkedIn at said the following regarding the acquisition,

We’re enthusiastic about the future possibilities of integrating the PointDrive experience with our Sales Solutions portfolio.  We believe that combining our network and product with their content-sharing application will help to better position LinkedIn as a platform where sales professionals can build stronger relationships with customers and prospects.

PointDrive’s development and product teams will be relocating to LinkedIn’s San Francisco office, while all customer-facing personnel will be staying in Chicago. PointDrive will continue to support their current customers, and they have made the decision not to take on any new ones as we focus their efforts on full integration within LinkedIn.
