Facebook just pushed out an update to its Windows 10 app via the Windows store. This new update replaces the “recent” tab with a new “Home” tab.

While this change is merely cosmetic for now, Facebook Messenger Home is a feature the firm announced earlier in the week, bringing with it a new focus on connecting with others.

Facebook describes its new Messenger Home feature as follows:

Now, you’ll see your conversations and ways to connect right where you need them most. You’ll still see the first few most recent messages at the top of your screen, followed by a new Favorites section, which highlights people you message most frequently, so you can quickly pick up your last conversation.

We hope to show you other things happening on Messenger that you might be interested in, too. For example, with the Active Now section, you can see that a good friend or colleague is available in the moment. Maybe that will prompt you to say hi

While the rest of the touted redesign features such as favourite contacts and birthdays in the home tab have yet to show up on either Windows 10 or Windows 10 Mobile, at least the firm is making a cursory effort to keep the app up to date with other platforms.

Facebook Messenger is available on Windows 10 now, and is in beta form on Windows 10 Mobile devices,
