Facebook today announced that it would be bringing its Community Help Tool to its lightweight Facebook Lite android app.

Community Help is a tool which allows users to share information in the aftermath of a crisis like the recent Typhoon in Japan. Users are able to mark themselves as safe, mark their houses as open for guests and help all with the tool.

“Our priority is to build tools that provide people with ways to get the help they need to recover and rebuild after a crisis,” Facebook Crisis Response Product Manager Jeong-Suh Choi said in a statement to Engadget. “By making Community Help available on Facebook Lite, even more people can get the help they need in times of crisis.”
