Microsoft launched Edge for Android only 6 weeks ago, and the app exited Android’s private beta program just today.

It seems the application has raised some interest at the very least, as in those short few weeks the app has generated more than 500,000 downloads on the Google Play Store.

Of course, this pales in comparison to the more than 100 million downloads of Outlook for Android, but then I think few people asked for another mobile browser on Android, meaning at the very least Edge has some enthusiasts to root for it.

Microsoft has promised to continue to improve the browser with new features and improvements, and I think if the company can make the application compelling with its existing ecosystem of apps on both phone and PC they may end up doing better than expected.
