At Ignite 2018, Microsoft today announced a new feature that will allow you to capture a photo of a hand-drawn or printed data table and turn it into an Excel spreadsheet. Once the data is available on Excel, it can be edited, analyzed and shared. This new feature is called “Insert Data from Picture” and it is now available in public preview on Android.

Microsoft today also announced major improvements to the performance of existing Excel functionality. The lookup-type functions will now take seconds instead of minutes. Microsoft also announced that the stock and geographies data types are now generally available for all Excel users.
