According to the federal government’s Digital Analytics Program (DAP), Windows is the most popular end-user operating system. According to the analytics report, Windows is the top operating system with 58.4% of all government website visitors in the United States. The analytics report also reveals that the most popular Windows version is Windows 7 (41.5%), followed by Windows 8 (9.8%) and XP (3.4%). Here’s the full chart:
As you can see from the above image, the second most popular operating system is iOS with 16.4% visitors, followed by Android with 13.9%. However, interestingly enough, Macintosh only has 9.2% visitors.
Nonetheless, it’s very nice to see Windows XP finally losing market share and Windows 8 gaining market share slowly. However, Windows 7 might just be the next XP, but there is a good chance Windows 10 might make users switch from Windows 7 to the latest version of Windows. What do you think?
