We’ve all been there—searching for that one item, only to end up on a different site, re-entering info and making new accounts. Amazon’s new AI tool, ‘Buy for Me,’ removes the hassle by acting as the smart middleman you didn’t know you needed.
‘Buy for Me’ is a new AI-powered feature in testing that lets Amazon purchase items for you from third-party brand sites if they aren’t available on Amazon. It’s currently in beta for select U.S. users.

Users might wonder why Amazon needs this when it already offers over 300 million products. Simply put—it’s about giving the users even more options and helping them find what they need, even if it’s not on Amazon. It also boosts visibility for brands without requiring them to sell directly on the platform.
So, how does it work? When you search for products in the Amazon app, you’ll now see a new section called “Shop brand sites directly.” If an item shows a ‘Buy for Me’ tag, tap it to open a product page—pulled from the brand’s website—right inside the app. Tap the button, confirm your details, and Amazon’s AI will securely complete the purchase for you. You’ll get a confirmation email from the brand and can track your order in the Buy for Me tab. Just note—returns and customer service go through the brand, not Amazon.
“Buy for Me” is still in its early stages, but if it rolls out widely, it could reshape the way you shop online—making Amazon your one-stop app, even for things it doesn’t sell.
