Tip: Force websites into reading mode with Microsoft Edge

Last weekend we offered an overview of Microsoft’s Edge reading features, we overlooked a small tip to make getting into Edge’s reading mode easier.

To force a page into reading mode, simply append read: to the website of your choice in the format read:www.website.com/pageIwanttoread, and Edge will open it up in reading mode automatically.

For example, clicking this link will take you to this article’s page without Edge’s reading mode enabled, while this will open it with reading mode activated.

This tip works both for websites which support Edge’s reading mode, and for websites which don’t (via reddit)- albeit often with messy results on the latter.
