We posted recently on the arrival of Sony PlayStation VR title Ghostbusters VR – Now Hiring Chapter 1 coming to the Windows Mixed Reality platform, a somewhat odd occurrence given that the platform is still very small meaning Sony was not compelled in any way to support the competing platform.

It now appears we have Acer to thank for bringing the title to the store.

In an interview on YouTube Peter Wood, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment Senior Vice President Digital Distribution explained that they had partnered with Acer for some months now to bring to the title to the MR platform and that they considered it to be one of the first big brand IP on the platform.

The adaptation meant the ported title would use the unique features of the platform and offer a unique user experience.

He promised it would be the start of a long business relationship.
