TFT vs AMOLED vs Super AMOLED

Samsung has been boasting about their new Super AMOLED technology, which was meant to address the issues AMOLED screens have in sunlight while still preserving the great colours and saturation we have expect from OLED displays.

Techblog.gr have put their claims to the test in the harsh Greek sunlight, and have compared the  Samsung Galaxy S (Super AMOLED) against the HTC Desire (AMOLED) and Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 (TFT).

The video shows the Super AMOLED certainly having an edge over the AMOLED screen, but not being much different from the TFT, until one goes inside.

With Windows Phone 7 being optimised for OLED screens this finding issue is pretty significant, but living in UK, this is likely not a problem I need to be worrying about.
