1) HP Envy 14 Spectre:

After much hype by releasing teasers, HP Envy 14 Spectre was revealed at CES. For $1400 starting price you get the following,

  • 3.79 pounds weight and 20mm thick unit
  • 14-inch, 1600 x 900 Radiance Display with Gorilla Glass,
  •  Core i5-2467M CPU,
  • 4GB of RAM,
  • Nine hour battery
  • Radiance backlit keyboard,
  • Carrying case
  • NFC chip built-in
  •  Intel Wireless Display,
  •  HP’s CoolSense technology,
  •  Beats ans  HP Wireless Audio,
  •  Full copies of Photoshop and Premiere Elements
  • A two-year subscription to Norton Internet Security

2) Refreshed Samsung Series 9 Laptops:

After the mildly successful and widely praised Samsung Series 9 laptops introduced last year, Samsung refreshed the lineup with two models. New 15-inch and 13.3-inch models were announced with starting price of $1399.

Specs:

  • Both are incredibly thin and light,
  • 1600 x 900-resolution, 400nit, matte displays,
  • 1.6GHz Core i5-2467M processor,
  •  4GB of RAM,
  •  Intel HD 3000 graphics,
  • 128GB mSATA SSD,
  •  six-cell batteries will provide six hours of use.

3) Corning Gorilla Glass 2:

Corning announced the next version of its uber popular Gorilla Glass  which now ships in millions of smart devices across the world. The new glass is 20% stronger than the current  generation Gorilla glass.

4) Samsung’s WiFi-enabled Cameras:

Samsung announced a bunch of wi-fi enabled point and shoot cameras. Wi-Fi in the cameras enables direct access to Microsoft’s Sky Drive, E-Mail, PC Auto Backup, remote viewfinding and of course Facebook, Youtube, and Picasa right from your phone. Top model has a 16 megapixel BSI CMOS sensor, 21x optical zoom, 3-inch AMOLED display, 1080p HD video and GPS.

Apart from these you should have heard about HTC Titan II, Nokia Lumia 900, Kinect for Windows availability, bunch of Android phones with HD screen, Dual Core processors, 1GB RAM which is a standard were announced. I’ll post about some prototype Ultrabooks/Laptops shown in another post.
