Recently Elon Musk took the world by storm when he announced Tesla Cybertruck which came with a rather “unique design”. Tesla’s major competitor here is Ford and Elon didn’t shy away from comparing Cybertruck directly to Ford F-150. Soon after the launch, Musk also posted a video showing Cybertruck pulling the F-150.
After the video went viral, Ford X’s VP Sundeep Madra challenged Musk to a proper tug of war and even asked him to send a Cybertruck. Musk being a straight talker responded with a “bring it on” accepting his F-150 vs Cybertruck challenge.

While this would have been the ultimate showdown to end the decade on a high note, Ford confirmed that the F-150 vs Cybertruck challenge was just a “tongue in cheek” troll. According to a statement given to TechCrunch Ford said it wasn’t a serious challenge.
Sunny’s tweet was tongue in cheek to point out the absurdity of Tesla’s video, nothing more. With America’s best-selling truck for 42 years, we’ve always focused on serving our truck customers regardless of what others say or do. We look forward to our all-new F-150 hybrid coming next year and all-electric F-150 in a few years.

While Ford might wrap it in whatever way they want, it does look like Ford realized that it might not be a good idea to pit F-150 against Cybertruck after all. Whatever the case may be, we surely did miss an awesome showdown between the two trucks. I guess we will have to rely on Tesla to share more videos comparing F-150 to the Cybertruck.
