Playables on Youtube

Playables on YouTube are new gaming experience from Google, that will aim to make gaming even more mobile than ever. According to their latest blog post, Google designed playables to be experienced directly on YouTube, on your phone, or on your desktop device.

The new Playables will appear as an entirely new section on YouTube, alongside the content from your favorite YouTubers. For now, the experience is public to a limited number of users, but Google will expand its availability in the weeks to come.

Testing “Playables” on YouTube: We’re starting to test a new experience on YouTube called “Playables”. Playables are games that can be played directly on YouTube on both desktop and mobile devices. If you’re part of this experiment, you’ll see a section on YouTube called “Playables” that will appear alongside other content on the home feed. We’re testing this with a limited number of users to start.

Playables on YouTube: the future of mobile gaming?

While it’s still very early to say so, playable on YouTube might just be the future of mobile gaming. Why? Because, simply opening up YouTube, and playing games directly from the platform, makes it easier for people to just hop in and play.

In time, playables could become a kind of gaming-on-the-go, allowing for seamless and interactive entertainment, everywhere. As everything happens on YouTube, playing games directly on the platform would not require you to install the games on their own, allowing for far better space management.

Plus, some regions offer free data when browsing content on YouTube, and playables will automatically benefit from it too.

We’re excited to see where this is going. Currently, the new experience is limited to a certain numbers of users, but if you are one of them, let us know your experience with them below.
