Update: Phil Spencer confirmed the game was running on Xbox One when he took the screenshot.

Phil Spencer shared a 1080p screenshot of the upcoming Phantom Dust port on Xbox One. Many suspected the game wouldn’t received noticeable upgrades but it’s definitely running at a high resolution on the development kit. While exact details are unknown, it’s confirmed that the game isn’t 480p on Xbox One or it would look like a blurry mess in the 1080p screenshot. From our initial analysis, it appears to be running at 1080p 30 FPS without anti-aliasing. It’s great that we can finally put those fallacious rumors to rest which pegged the game at 480p all those weeks ago.

Xbox One on 1080p Screen

Phantom Dust mixes action and strategy in a new kind of fighting game. After the apocalypse, a small group of humans survived underground. When they finally emerged, they found a world where everyone and everything is covered in something called Phantom Dust. This dust gives people supernatural powers they use for survival. When the underground dwellers come to the surface, they’re covered in the Phantom Dust and their deadly adventure begins.

Original Xbox on 1080p Screen

The game supports Xbox Play Anywhere and is expected to launch in the coming weeks. Phantom Dust also features an incredibly addictive multiplayer mode which will carry over to the next-generation device. Hopefully a lot of gamers will give the rerelease a shot because it was definitely ahead of its time when it originally came out. Now that we have a screenshot, hopefully Microsoft will reveal some gameplay footage soon!
