Panasonic today announced the refreshed Toughbook CF-20, a fully rugged Windows 10 detachable tablet with 10-inch display. Toughbook CF-20 is powered by 7th Generation Intel Core vPro processor, 8GB RAM, 256GB SSD and Windows 10 Pro. Panasonic claims that this device will offer up to 17 hours battery life. Like the Surface Book, the battery is split across tablet and the keyboard. The tablet alone can run for 8.5 hours.
Panasonic has included new Windows Hello enabled front camera for enhanced authentication. The device also comes with a removable SSD as a project option for sensible data protection and TPM 2.0 encryption for data security needs.
The Panasonic Toughbook CF-20 features a 10.1″, 10-finger capacitive multi-touch WUXGA screen (1920 x 1200 pixels) that uses the latest IPS Panel with 800cd/m² brightness. In addition, it supports digitizer pen as well.
Some other new features included in this updated device are optional magnetic stripe reader which allows for the reading of driving licences and membership cards for example, significantly improveed rear camera, a glove-enabled touchscreen, purpose-built vehicle mount and desktop port replicator. There is also a 4G LTE option for mobile data connection and the option for the latest U-Blox 8 GPS for precise navigation.
The Panasonic Toughbook CF-20 is made of magnesium and its IP65 and MIL-STD 810G rated design makes it ideal for all outdoor usage. It weighs just 1.89kg in notebook mode – with the detachable tablet weighing 950g.
The Panasonic Toughbook CF-20 notebook will come with a standard 3 year warranty and will be available from March 2018, priced at £2218 + VAT.
