Owners of Forza Horizon 3's Ultimate Edition can play the game today

Forza Horizon 3’s release for regular customers is still on the horizon, but anyone who owns the Ultimate Edition of the game can jump into the action today. Anyone who didn’t get the Ultimate Edition only has to wait a few days for release, as the final game comes out on the 27th. It’s been possible to pre-load the game for a little while now, and it might be time to put those files to use.

Forza Horizon 3’s Ultimate Edition isn’t just about the release date, though. It’s the full package for the game, containing all of the DLC. It’s kinda like a Game of the Year edition releasing before the awards are handed out, but it comes with a whopping price tag to match – $100. You get a lot for this price, though. If you have the money to spare and really like Forza Horizon, it might be worth checking out.

Forza Horizon 3 is the latest installment in the Forza Horizon sub-series, and it’s got the biggest open world in a Horizon game to date, as well as the most vehicles. One of these vehicles just so happens to be the infamous Halo Warthog, which will be given free to anyone who’s played either Halo 5 or the Master Chief Collection. Codes for it will be given out via a message on Xbox Live, and they’re going out in waves. Some people got theirs weeks ago, and some people are still receiving theirs now.

Horizon 3 is also the very first game to support HDR on the Xbox One S, which allows for significantly richer colors. That isn’t the only milestone for the game, however – it’s also the second Xbox Play Anywhere title, meaning that you’ll be able to play the game on both Windows 10 and your Xbox One if you buy it digitally.
