Three weeks ago we wrote that Microsoft was planning a quiet upgrade to the Surface Book 2 line of laptops after listing for a new Surface Book 2 variant started showing up at online retailers.
This showed that Microsoft was adding an 8th gen Core i5 option, which is a quad-core processor compared to the dual-core 7th gen Core i5 processor previously available.
That upgraded option has now hit Microsoft’s Surface Store, adding $200 to be base price, but still $500 less than the Core i7 88th gen version.
The Core i5 version still, however, lacks the discrete graphics of the most powerful device.
The new Surface Book 2 still features eight gigabytes of RAM and a 256 GB PCIe NVMe SSD, a 13.5-inch PixelSense display with stylus support, 3: 2 format and a resolution of 3000×2000 pixels, 17 hours battery life and two full size USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports, the USB C port and the SD card reader.
Grab the device while it is in stock at Microsoft here.
