Yesterday, we took some questions from our followers regarding Continuum experience on Lumia 950 and Lumia 950 XL device. Find some of the questions and their answers below.
@wmpoweruser Is wireless continuum better with bigger processors & liquid cooling vs the 950?
— unsterblich (@unsterblich) November 29, 2015
In theory definitely yes. With my experience with these devices for 3-4 hours, I felt the same. In a way, I did stress testing on these devices. I opened 7-8 applications, played a YouTube video on Edge, connected two wireless mice and a bluetooth keyboard. Even under these extreme conditions, there was no significant performance difference between Lumia 950 XL and Lumia 950. But, Lumia 950 XL was warm and Lumia 950 was hot. I think lack of liquid cooling might be the culprit which makes the device hot.
@wmpoweruser Also, can you use two different apps at the same time? (one on the big screen and one on the phone) — Alessandro Spisso (@ilGianfri) November 29, 2015
Yes, you can use different apps at the same time. For example, you can browse the web on bigger screen while doing a phone call on phone. No, you can’t use the same app on both phone and external display.
@wmpoweruser what happens with non-Windows 10 apps? A game for example
— Matteo Contrini (@matteocontrini) November 29, 2015
First, the non-universal app will be grayed out in the Continuum Start screen. When you click them, it will prompt you to open it on the phone.
@wmpoweruser If you’re using an app on your phone and then launch it on the big screen, is it relaunched and closed on phone? — Alessandro Spisso (@ilGianfri) November 29, 2015
I tried it with Fitbit universal app. The app will not close and it will open in phone with the UI optimized for small screens.
@wmpoweruser can you plugin USB microphones in continuum?
— Wytse Vellinga (@WytseVellinga) November 29, 2015
I didn’t have USB microphones with me to try out. I’ll check with Microsoft on this and update you.
@wmpoweruser I want to know only one thing, does Microsoft Edge on continuum support flash? — Phivos Herodotou (@X360freak) November 29, 2015
Flash not supported in Edge.
@wmpoweruser Can the work done using continuum using wires, be done wireless?
— SJT (@jsyed90) November 29, 2015
Yes, when you open the Continuum app on Lumia 950/950 XL, it will ask you between wired and wireless modes. But you are recommended to use wired mode to enjoy 60 frames per second content on the display.
