If you have been waiting for a new Surface Book, we have some bad news. Despite all the recent rumors, Microsoft may not launch the next-gen Surface Book device this year. The company was expected to reveal a new Surface Book device in October for months, but that may no longer be the case.

According to a new report from ZDNet, Redmond might not start shipping the new Surface Book 2017 (or Surface Book 2? Surface Book 2018?) until early 2018. It was recently reported that Microsoft would announce a new Surface device in October at its Future Decoded conference — but the latest rumors suggest that the company will only launch the new Surface Pro with LTE at the event. There aren’t many details about the new Surface Book as of yet, so we don’t really know much about what Microsoft is cooking up for the Surface Book fans. It is worth noting that this is just a rumor for now, so take it with a tiny grain of salt.

If the release of the new Surface Book is indeed being delayed, Microsoft will have some big stuff to announce next year. This, of course, includes the new Surface Book, a new Surface Hub, and possibly the rumored Surface Phone/Andromeda.
