According to Aggiornamenti Lumia, Microsoft is planning to give users direct access to language packs from Microsoft Store. This would mean that users can bypass Windows Update and directly download and install language packs from Microsoft Store like they download apps and games. The company has uploaded a series of language packs including Russian, Catalan, Valencian and others in the last few days. This might be a test run and we suspect Microsoft might be soon enabling the ability to download language packs with Redstone 4.
This is what is reported in the official description of each language pack loaded on the Store (Translated):
Do you want to experience Windows in a new language? This Local Experience Pack includes the latest language resources for Windows features such as the Start menu, Settings, and File Explorer. After installing this app, select the Launch button to navigate to Windows’ Settings app. From there, you can control your language preferences, including the Windows display language.
So what do you think about this new feature from Microsoft? Let us know your thoughts in the comments section below.
For now, you can try downloading the following language packs from Windows Store below.
