At its annual Worldwide Partner Conference today, Microsoft announced quite a few things. There wasn’t a lot of news related to Windows Mobile, however, Terry Myerson – the company’s Executive Vice President of the Windows and Devices Group stated that “soon you will see premium new Lumias designed for Windows 10”. Here’s Terry’s full statement:
“Last week we announced a focusing on our Lumia lineup, but let me be clear: soon you will see premium new Lumias designed for Windows 10.”
This shouldn’t be a surprise, really. Earlier last week, Microsoft announced that the company is making some strategic changes on its mobile businesses and it’ll focus on three areas: value devices, mid-range and high-end devices for enthusiasts. For now, there isn’t much info on the new Lumias that pack premium design. These new Lumias Terry Myerson could be the Lumia 940 and Lumia 940 XL or it could be the Surface Phone – however, this is just a speculation.
It isn’t yet known when the company will launch these new devices, however, don’t be surprised if Microsoft reveals these premium devices at IFA 2015 (September). Until then, discuss what you expect Microsoft to pack with these premium Lumia devices in the comment section below!
