Bing Rewards, a service from Microsoft which allows users to use Bing to search the web and earn redeemable credits will no longer be available India. Following the launch of Microsoft Rewards, the company today announced that it’ll be killing Bing Rewards in the country. For those wondering, the company launched Bing Rewards in India back in March of this year. This is probably because the company is rolling out Microsoft Rewards. For those unfamiliar, Microsoft Rewards will allow users to earn points by using Bing to search the web. Alongside using Bing to search, users can also use Microsoft Edge on Windows 10 to earn Microsoft Rewards points. Additionally, users can also earn rewards points by buying apps, movies, games, and more on the Windows Store. Lastly, you can also earn reward points by shipping at the Microsoft Store which is pretty nice.
According to Microsoft, Bing Rewards will end on September 30, 2016 in India and users will no longer be able to earn or redeem credits. The company stated:
Thanks for your participation in Bing Rewards beta (India). Please note that this program will end on September 30, 2016. After that date, you will no longer be able to earn or redeem credits.
At the moment, it doesn’t seem like Microsoft will be launching the new Microsoft Rewards in India. If you happen to use Bing Rewards in India, make sure to redeem all of your credits before September 30th of this year.
