Microsoft started publishing Microsoft Systems Journal and Microsoft Internet Developer magazines between late 1980s and 1990s. In 2000, Microsoft consolidated them into a single magazine called MSDN Magazine. Microsoft recently announced that MSDN Magazine will be retired this year. MSDN Magazine will publish its last issue in November.

All previous issues will be archived and available online. Microsoft will now focus their work through docs.microsoft.com. All current MSDN Magazine subscribers will receive a pro-rated refund, based on time remaining on their subscription.
