Later today, Microsoft is expected to announce a bunch of Surface Devices and we also expect the company to announce the long-rumoured Surface earbuds. It looks like we might see more audio enhancements at the event today.

According to a trademark filing discovered by Letsgodigital, Microsoft is planning to introduce something called Surface Audio. The trademark was filed with the CIPO (Canadian Intellectual Property Office) and EUIPO (European Union Intellectual Property Office) on 27 September 2019. The trademark is classified under Class 9 which is reserved for firmware and softwares. At this point, we don’t know much about it since Surface Audio could mean anything. We speculate that it has something to do with the audio experience on the Surface devices. Alternatively, it could be related to the audio enhancements on the Surface earbuds.

The good thing, we don’t have to wait for too long as the event is scheduled for later today. We will be covering the event so make sure to stay tuned for the latest updates. In the meantime, you could check out the trademark filing here.
