Microsoft Corporate Cloud

According to the latest survey from Cowen & Co, Cloud computing initiatives top the list of corporate IT spending priorities in the fourth quarter and Microsoft is the biggest beneficiary from it.

When asked about which public/hybrid cloud providers they were expected to use over the next 12 to 18 months, over 71% of IT buyers chose Microsoft which is up from 68% last quarter. Amazon and Google which are considered as the competitor to Microsoft managed to get only 24% and 17% respectively. While Amazon dominates public cloud in general, much of its market is from startups and emerging companies as opposed to traditional corporate companies. Microsoft also came first in the list for cloud operating systems that companies are using or intend to use within the next year for their in-house cloud platforms. 71% respondents chose Microsoft over its competitors.
