Last month, we reportedthat Windows 10 will support MKV video format out of the box. Today, Gabriel Aul from Microsoft confirmed that Windows 10 will support both MKV and HEVC media formats out of the box. Since it will be native to the platform, all apps can take advantage of this new media format support.
MKV is one of the commonly used file format for video and previously in Windows, you need to have 3rd party players like VLC Player which includes MKV support.
