Microsoft confirms Halo’s Jen Taylor to voice Cortana on Windows Phone

Neowin reports that Microsoft will indeed by using voice actress Jen Taylor from the Halo series fame to voice the Cortana Digital Assistant on Windows Phone 8.1.

In a statement Microsoft said:

"[The] Cortana beta synthesizes voices from more than one source, Jen Taylor being one of them. Over time, we plan to employ Jen Taylor’s voice throughout a greater portion of the experience."

A huge petition which reached more than 83,000 votes urged Microsoft to make the Halo-themed code-names official, and also to use Jen’s voice, so it seems, at least on this occasion, people power did pay off. 

Now if we can only do something about replacing that circle with a Halo-themed Cortana avatar also…
