Microsoft today announced SharePoint Server 2019 to support customers who maintain SharePoint and OneDrive workloads on-premises. SharePoint Server 2019 will come with several new improvements including improved UI, modern team sites, communication sites, lists, libraries, pages, news and more. Thanks to the new user experience and extensibility support in the SharePoint Framework in SharePoint Server, customers can eliminate sharp differences between sites on-premises and in Office 365. Microsoft today also announced that customers can automate migration using PowerShell support for the SharePoint Migration Tool.
SharePoint Server 2019 has been optimized for the way you work, with a familiar, consistent view of information, collaboration, and process. At the same time, IT will benefit from a comprehensive, easily managed and integrated platform that meets the needs of the business today and tomorrow.
SharePoint Server 2019 will be generally available to customers in second half of this year. And SharePoint Server 2019 Preview will be available to customers in Summer 2018.
