At the Microsoft Business Applications Summit today, Microsoft offered a first look at the Dynamics 365 and Power Platform 2019 release wave 2 plans. In addition to the updates to Power BI and Microsoft Flow, Microsoft also announced two brand new capabilities, AI Builder and PowerApps Portals.

AI Builder will allow anyone to use AI and machine learning to make their apps and automations more intelligent. This can be used in forms processing, object detection, and text and binary classification. PowerApps now allows anyone to create websites that can be accessed by external users with a wide variety of identities including personal accounts, LinkedIn, and other Azure Active Directory organizations, and enable anonymous access to content. These are called PowerApps Portals.

Other highlights from today’s announcement:

  • New AI Capabilities in Power BI like new AI visuals, an extension of Power BI’s natural language capabilities and more.
  • A New Look for Power BI making it easier for users to explore data in a style familiar from Office 365.
  • Blockchain in PowerApps and Flow brings low-code blockchain capabilities to the Power Platform.

These features will go live starting October 1st. You can read about these features in detail from the links below.
