Early this year, Microsoft announced the first technical preview of Azure Stack. Azure Stack is Microsoft’s hybrid cloud platform product that enables your organization to deliver Azure services from your own datacenter to help you achieve more. Get the power of cloud services, yet maintain control of your datacenter for true hybrid cloud agility. Easily access public cloud resources to scale at busy times of the year, for dev-test, or whenever you need them.
At Ignite, Microsoft is announcing the second Technical Preview of Azure Stack. With the TP2 release, they have added new foundational services (in the box), including Azure Queue storage for application messaging and Azure Key Vault for managing application secrets. Microsoft is also planning to deliver updates for additional services, such as App Service in the coming weeks.
With TP2, they are bringing new infrastructure management technologies used to manage Azure Stack. This release contains a version of the management technologies scoped to a single server deployment so that cloud owner/operators can begin to see how the system works.
Also, you can now install the Technical Preview 2 on a single server to explore, learn about, and prepare for the power of Azure services in your datacenter. Azure Stack team will continue to make available the single server option even after the integrated systems are released with general availability.
