OnePlus is set to launch a new limited edition OnePlus 6T in partnership with McLaren. The company has partnered with several brands in the past which includes companies like Marvel and Disney. This time around, the company has partnered with racing giant, McLaren to launch a special edition OnePlus 6T. McLaren perfectly fits into the puzzle as the tagline of 6T is “Unlock the Speed”.

While the device is set to launch on 11th December in London followed by a launch on 12th December in Mumbai, a recent tweet from OnePlus suggests that McLaren branding and colour scheme might not be the only difference between the normal 6T and the McLaren edition 6T. The official account of OnePlus tweeted “Charging is about to hit warp speed” which might indicate that the McLaren edition 6T will come with 50W Warp Charging feature. OnePlus recently renamed their fast charging to Warp Charging after a controversy with the word “Dash”.

While the current charger bundled with OnePlus 6T supports 20W which is way faster than Samsung or Google which support 10W charging, OnePlus could really take the lead with 50W charging which is currently supported by its sibling company Oppo. Not only that, it looks like OnePlus could ditch their trademark red charging cable in favour of the Orange one which is a trademark colour for McLaren sports cars. This could very well be a change just for McLaren edition devices as they certainly don’t want to give an impression of a Ferrari with Red colour cables. That said, it would be cool to have multiple colour choices for charging cables in the future. OnePlus, are you listening?
