Google Assistant is arguably the best one out there and now it’s about to get a lot better. Google is planning a new feature in the Messages app that will make us use its digital voice assistant more than ever before.

The latest update of the Messages app for Android brought support for Google Assistant support. The new feature lets you get info about various things in the conversation. As first spotted by u/dirtyraat, the latest update enables Google Assistant to keep track of your conversations and when it spots some relevant keyword, it starts giving you suggestions based on that keyword. You can also customize what Google Assistant can suggest(via XDA).

The latest update takes the Messages app to version 4.4.070 but is not available for everyone. Nevertheless, if you are one of them who received the update, then go to the settings of the app and look for “Smart Reply & Suggestions,” where you will be able to tell the Google Assistant things on which you want it to give you suggestion about.

This is a phased roll-out and should be available to everyone in the coming weeks.
