HTC unveils its next generation Cosmos VR headset

HTC today revealed important details related to Vive Cosmos, the newest VR headset from Vive. HTC Vive will require no external base stations and will include six cameras for inside-out tracking. Vive Cosmos headset will come with 1,440 × 1,700 per-eye displays, almost double the resolution of original Vive headset. Oculus Rift S, Facebook’s flagship VR headset only comes with 1,280 × 1,440 per-eye displays. Vive Cosmos will use LCD display and real RGB panels with increased sub-pixels for more clarity and reduced screendoor effect.

HTC Vive Cosmos VR headset will be available for sale in Q3 this year.
