June 9, 2025 – Google Vids now supports Veo-3, the latest model that delivers 8-second video clips complete with synchronized audio, giving users a polished, ready-to-use asset inside Workspace. Previously, Vids relied on Veo-2 to generate silent footage, but now it has shifted to producing spoken content with realistic sound and voice-over.
The updated flow feels seamless. In Vids’ editor, users click the “Generate video” icon, choose Veo-3, type a prompt describing a scene plus dialogue, and hit “Create.” After a quick preview, they can insert the clip into their project. If the result isn’t ideal, muting the audio remains an option.

Veo-3 generates clips at 720p resolution and 24 fps within a 16:9 frame. Each video lasts up to 8 seconds. That runtime fits safety training intros, product demos, and internal announcements. For example, a prompt can instruct a person in a neon safety vest to say, “Welcome to our field technician training,” or have a spokesperson demonstrate flashlight use at dusk. The model aligns spoken words to character lip movements, making the result feel polished.
Google began rolling out the feature on June 9, 2025, via both the Rapid Release and Scheduled Release tracks, and users should see it over the following 15 days. Workspace plans eligible for Veo-3 include Business Starter, Standard, Plus, Enterprise Starter, Essentials, Nonprofits, customers with the Gemini for Workspace add-on, and AI Pro and Ultra subscribers. Currently, prompts only work in English, and Vids inserts an invisible watermark to flag AI-generated output.
By adding synchronized audio, Google blurs the line between static video assets and mini-production, before you’d need actors or voice-over. Now, users get polished, spoken clips right inside Vids. This change marks a clear upgrade in capabilities.
