Google is celebrating Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander (AANHPI) Heritage Month with new features across its platforms. These revisions foreground the contributions of Asian and Pasifika communities, and allow users to better relate to the stories and culture.

The Google Play Store now features a special hub for AANHPI Month. It offers curated content, including books from authors like Nghi Vo, Bianca Mabute-Louie, and Saumya Dave. You can also find games like Disney Emoji Blitz and Arena Breakout, along with apps such as WEBTOON, Viki, and Hulu that showcase Asian-created content. An exclusive interview with Mattel CEO Amy Huang is also available.

Google Meet has brought back a special background. It features a Filipino-style room with traditional decor and a scenic view of rice terraces. Users can find it under the “New” or “Stylized” background sections.

YouTube is spotlighting AAPI creators through playlists, watchlists, and featured content across YouTube Kids, YouTube Music, and YouTube TV. Creators like Lyanna Kea and Mandy Fu will be highlighted throughout the month.

Google also reminds users to explore Asian-owned businesses on Maps and Search, try the 44 new API languages in Google Translate, and personalize Chrome with the Asian & Pacific Islander Artists Series.
