Over 130 Americans die every day from opioid-related drug overdoses. In order to bring this number down, Google is announcing a new feature in Maps and Search that will allow US customers to find the nearest drug disposal center. For example, when you search “drug drop off near me” or “medication disposal near me”, Google Maps and Google Search will display permanent disposal locations at your local pharmacy, hospital or government building allowing you to dispose the unneeded medication.

This feature is now available in Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Iowa, Massachusetts, Michigan and Pennsylvania. Google has plans to expand this feature to more locations in the coming months.
