Overall Score: 4/5
Good gameplay and presentation make Bubble Star worth trying if you’ve never played these types of games!
Gameplay: 4/5
Bubble Star is nothing new, but if you’ve never played these types of games, it’s new to you and worth playing! Bubble Star features perfect controls, a great scoring system (gives you bonuses for streaks and bouncing off walls), power-ups, and levels that were designed with care and effort. You’ll often come across levels where you can tell the developers specifically designed them a certain way, and they’re often designed really well! The gameplay could use a restart button, but that’s about it.
Presentation: 4/5
The visuals look clean and sharp, and the music goes well with the game (and somehow doesn’t become repetitive!). Overall it’s a well designed game.
Lasting Value: 3/5
Bubble Star could use some more levels, or maybe a different gameplay mode where you race against the clock. Its lasting value comes in at around 2 hours, which is just about average. There aren’t any leaderboards either, but levels do have star ratings so that you can go back and replay levels and get all three stars!
