Fallout 76’s upcoming Wastelanders update has been delayed into early next year, as Bethesda believes that the update ultimately needs more time to be the best and most polished addition that it can be.

There’s no set release date for Wastelanders at the moment, with Bethesda simply saying the update will release in Q1 2020.

Wastelanders is set to be the biggest and most ambitious update for Fallout 76 to date. It aims to give the game an almost Fallout 3-esque feel, with a similar dialogue system that reacts to your character and their personality rather than just a bunch of generic speech options.

There’ll also be thousands of human NPCs strewn throughout Appalachia, new weapons, new factions and sub-factions including a cult, a new main quest, new choices, actual consequences, new gear, and more.

Wastelanders will also be completely free, so all Fallout 76 players will be able to treat themselves to this new and upgraded experience at no extra cost.

However, it’s not all doom and gloom in regards to Fallout 76 updates. Private servers will be launching in Fallout 76 next week, letting you play in your own private world with your friends, or just on your own if you’re into the whole Lone Wanderer thing!

There are also plenty more quality-of-life improvements to be added before the end of the year along with new events, the Legendary Player system, a public test server, perk loadouts, and much more.
