Destiny 2's reveal trailer rallies the Guardians once more

Destiny 2 was officially announced with a simple teaser image just three days ago. This was followed up with a teaser trailer that served as an announcement for something even bigger, and now that something bigger is here. It’s a reveal trailer that shows off the premise of the game, and shows just what happened to The Last City. You can watch it below.

The Last City came under attack by a brutal alien force known as the Red Legion, which is led by a commander named Ghaul. Humanity has been forced to flee, the Guardians have lost their power, and mankind is left hunting across the stars to get the firepower necessary to take down Ghaul – and all of the soldiers under his command.

According to Bungie, you’ll be traveling to mysterious (and previously unexplored) world across the solar system to gather all sorts of new weapons and abilities. After the Guardians are armed once more you’ll have to reunite humanity’s former heroes, and then fight to reclaim both The Last City and Earth itself. It’s an undeniably exciting premise, even if it’s presented alongside Cayde-6’s wisecracking.

Pre-orders for the game are also live, and can be found on the game’s official website for various platforms including PC, which the first Destiny skipped entirely. While the full game will launch on September 8th, pre-ordering will get you access to a beta version of the game. While we aren’t sure when the beta will begin, it’ll probably be announced soon.
