Windows 11 Version 24H1

Yesterday, Dell announced its new generation of XPS laptops with the latest Intel Core processors. In one of the promotional materials for the new XPS laptop, Dell revealed that Microsoft will release Windows 11 Version 24H1 this year. Dell specifically mentioned that Windows 11 Version 24H1 will be available for download starting April of this year and will be available for factory installations starting August of this year.

Along with the availability information, Dell also revealed that Windows 11 Version 24H1 will come with WiFi 7 support. WiFi 7, also known as IEEE 802.11be, is the upcoming WiFi standard that represents a significant advancement in wireless networking technology that will deliver Extremely High Throughput (EHT) to greatly enhance the speed, performance, and efficiency of WiFi networks.

Here are some key features of WiFi 7:

Maximum Link Rate: WiFi 7 is expected to reach a theoretical maximum link rate of 46 Gbps, which is a substantial increase from the previous generations.

Frequency Bands: It will operate across 2.4 GHz, 5 GHz, and 6 GHz frequency bands, fully utilizing the spectrum resources.

Multi-Link Operation (MLO): This feature allows devices to simultaneously send and receive data across different frequency bands and channels, increasing throughput and reducing latency.

4096-QAM Modulation: With 4096-QAM, each symbol can carry 12 bits rather than 10 bits, resulting in a 20% higher theoretical transmission rate compared to WiFi 6’s 1024-QAM.

320MHz Bandwidth: WiFi 7 introduces ultra-wide bandwidth channels, which means double the speed to your devices compared to previous standards

With Windows 11 Version 24H1 adding WiFi 7 support, we can expect more OEMs ship Windows laptops with this latest WiFi technology.
