At IFA 2017 last year, ASUS announced its plan to enter Windows Mixed Reality ecosystem with their own headset. Today, ASUS announced that their Windows Mixed Reality headset is now available for purchase at $429 in the US.

Powered by Windows 10 and designed to bring you immersive real-world and virtual experiences, it features a unique design with a pattern of hundreds of 3D polygons and a glossy tone-on-tone effect. Weighing under 400g (less than one pound) and featuring a balanced-crown design that that reduces pressure on the nose and face, Asus says the ASUS Windows Mixed Reality Headset is cool and comfortable to wear for extended periods.

The ASUS Windows Mixed Reality headset features inside-out tracking with two built-in front-facing tracking cameras with 6 degrees-of-freedom (6DoF) position tracking and does not need external sensors or additional software, making the initial setup simple so you’re up and running in minutes.

You can order it from the ASUS Store and other leading retailers from today. If you don’t mind having a plain headset design, you can buy Mixed Reality Headsets from others OEMs starting at just $250. Find the deal here on Amazon.
