The biggest issue with buying cheap non-Microsoft Mobile Windows Phones is whether the devices will ever be supported.

Now some hope has come from an unlikely source – the Argos Bush Sim Free Mobile phone, which is about as generic as one can get.

WindowsMania.pl reports that the UK device has just received an update to Windows Phone 8.1 Update 1 build 14226.

The low-cost device is  the WVGA version of Microsoft’s Windows Reference Design handset, and suggests the update may be rolling out to the rest pretty soon.

Despite having a huge number of OEMs signing up to distribute Windows Phones, we suspect, going by AdDuplex stats, much less than half a million have even been sold.  Are any of our readers using these handsets, and have you been getting updates?
