Adobe brings Luma AI’s Ray3 video model to Firefly for paying users
Adobe and Luma AI announced a partnership on September 18, 2025 that makes Luma’s Ray3 generative video model available inside Adobe Firefly for paid subscribers. Ray3 is designed to produce more realistic 10-second clips with improved motion coherence and lighting compared to earlier systems.
By shipping the model within Firefly, Adobe gives its creative-suite users a way to generate short video sequences without leaving familiar workflows, and sets expectations for licensing and usage under Adobe’s existing guardrails. The companies say Ray3 emphasizes temporal consistency to reduce artifacts that have limited professional use cases for text-to-video tools.
While 10 seconds remains the current cap, future updates aim for longer durations and better HDR handling through partner pipelines. The integration complements Adobe’s broader push to embed generative AI across its apps, while Luma gains distribution to a large base of creators who may not have tried standalone AI video services. Pricing follows Firefly’s subscription and credit system; Adobe did not disclose additional fees tied specifically to Ray3.
