- List of devices with the Copilot key is yet to be announced.
- The Redmond tech giant further said that it would arrive next month, in February.
Microsoft is going all out in getting artificial intelligence everywhere. Now, the Redmond-based tech giant has said that it would slap a dedicated Copilot key on desktop and laptop keyboards for Windows 11 PCs.
“Over the coming days leading up to and at CES, you will start to see the Copilot key on many of the new Windows 11 PCs from our ecosystem partners, with availability beginning in late February through Spring, including on upcoming Surface devices,” says Microsoft in the official announcement.
Microsoft has yet to name which PC-making companies will start giving out Copilot keys to their devices so far.
But, from the look of the video, Microsoft will somewhat place this Copilot key near the right Alt button where a second Ctrl or a Print screen shortcut is usually located.
While Copilot’s reach is expanding, it might not be available everywhere just yet. In countries without Copilot, pressing the dedicated key will still offer a handy search function through Windows Search.
Microsoft’s hotly-anticipated AI companion is also coming to mobile. Copilot is now available as a standalone app for mobile devices, both Android and iOS, through their respective app stores.
