Vivo announces its flagship NEX series devices with no notch and in-display fingerprint sensor

Just weeks after announcing the Vivo X21 in India, Vivo has launched a new flagship lineup called NEX series. The company today announced the first two devices for the NEX lineup. Called NEX A and NEX S, both the devices come with high-end specs and are notchless.
Both the devices are powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon processors but NEX S is based on Snapdragon 845 64-bit 10nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 630 GPU while NEX A based on Octa-Core Snapdragon 710 10nm Mobile Platform with Adreno 616 GPU. Vivo has added 8 GB RAM and 128 GB storage to NEX S while NEX A comes with 6 GB RAM and 128 GB storage. Both the devices have a 6.59-inch (2316×1080 pixels) Full HD+ Super AMOLED 19:9 aspect ratio display and have 91% screen-to-body ratio.
Vivo has also added an impressive camera to both the devices. Both the devices have a 12MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash (Sony IMX363 sensor and 4-axis OIS) f/1.8 aperture. The secondary on both the devices is 5MP with f/2.4 aperture. The front camera on both the devices is 8MP with f/2.0 aperture. The company has also added an in-display fingerprint sensor to the NEX S but NEX A comes with a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor.
Other specs include a 3.5mm headphone jack Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac, USB Type-C and Bluetooth 5. Vivo has also added a 4000mAh battery. Both the devices will go on sale in China from June 23rd. The Vivo NEX smartphones come in Diamond Black and Red colors. The NEX S with 128 GB storage is priced at 4498 yuan ($702 / Rs. 47,375 approx.), 256GB version will cost 4998 yuan ($780 / Rs. 52,640 approx.) and NEX A will cost 3898 yuan (US$ 608 / Rs. 41,055 approx.).
