Finding the right conversation in Twitter DM can be difficult, especially when the Twitter inbox contains numerous Direct Messages. It can take more than a minute just to find the right person to whom you want to send some important messages. This might end soon as Twitter is now developing a new feature that will make the whole process of finding conversations take not more than just a couple of seconds.

As first spotted by reverse engineer Jane Manchun Wong, Twitter is currently testing a new feature that allows users to search for Direct Messages(DM). You’ll just need to type a couple of letters of the name and Twitter will display all the possible matching, among which you will be able to pick the right one.

Once you go the DM, you’ll see a search bar at the top. The placeholder text of the search says “Search for people and groups,” which also suggests that besides individuals, the search will also produce a satisfactory result for groups.

As I said earlier, the feature is currently under testing and, therefore, you’ll have to wait at least a month or two to see the new feature in action.
