The Samsung Odyssey is clearly the best Windows Mixed Reality headset, with a  slightly higher resolution 1440 x 1600 OLED screen per eye and larger 110-degree field of view. The headset also features built-in headphones and dual-array mikes but still lets you plug in your own headphones.

Given that it is only about $50 more than the other devices many of those planning to invest in a Windows Mixed Reality headset may be planning to opt for the better device.

Now UploadVR reports that Samsung has confirmed to them the headset will be US only.

Set to arrive in USA on the 6th November, Samsung did not give a reason the device will not be sold more widely, despite the product page saying it would be on sale United States, Canada, United Kingdom, France, and Germany.

While Samsung has not said I have one theory – the adoption of WMR headsets by OEMs have been oddly uniform, and I suspect Microsoft may be footing much of the bill, leading to lesser geographic availability.

We’ll ask Microsoft for comment and update our readers on the response.
